What You Need to Know About Ultrasonic Cavitation
Ultrasonic Cavitation is commonly known as ‘lipo without surgery.’ To simplify things, it is a weight-loss treatment that damages fat cell membranes by using low-frequency sound waves. This can commonly result in losing inches on the area being treated. The fat cells become liquefied and are released through the urinary and lymphatic system.
With liposuction, fat is suctioned out from under the skin during surgery with a medical instrument called the ‘cannula.’ It can be painful to recover from and there is always a risk of the instrument hitting a vital organ and/or other medical risks that come with surgery. However, with Ultrasonic Cavitation, you don’t need to worry about being prodded, poked, and you won’t see any needles. All the medical professional will need is an ultrasound device for the procedure.
Small amount of gel are placed in the areas that fat need to be removed from, and the ultrasound device is placed on the targeted area for 20-30 minutes. Painless and no anesthesia needed!
How it really works:
We already mentioned how the ultrasound device destroys fat cells, but how exactly is it done? During the procedure, fat cells are targeted and ultrasonic waves start by breaking them down. This ultimately causes triglycerides and fatty substances to be released- these are what cause the area to be flabby. During the following week after your procedure, your body will begin to naturally process the remaining triglycerides and fat. The ultrasound device used in the procedure is calibrated to only fight the fat cells, so you don’t have to worry about surrounding tissue being damaged.
Your suggested amount of treatments:
Every person and every body shape/size is different; therefore during your consultation we will help you determine how many sessions you need to reach the desired weight loss. During your consultation you will also have a physical exam performed. Ultrasonic Cavitation is not intended to treat the morbidly obese- the perfect candidate for the procedure is someone who is at least moderately healthy and follows an exercise plan. From there, we will discuss your goals and the areas you want to see slimmed down. Usually, a treatment schedule lasting between 10-20 weeks is typical for best weight loss. There should be roughly 4 days between sessions- the body eliminates most fat 72 hours after the procedure.
When will you see results?
Results are noticeable after the very first session. During the following week you will begin to notice the fat melting off, and following sessions you will begin to notice more drastic changes.
How is the fat expelled?
You won’t notice the fat being expelled- when it leaves your body it is no longer in solid form. It is turned into a substance during the procedure making it easy to drain through the urinary or lymphatic system.
More than likely, you will not be approved for the procedure if you have any pre-existing medical conditions such as cardiac or vascular diseases. It should ALWAYS be avoided by pregnant or nursing women, and people who have pacemakers, metal implants, immune problems, or cancer should avoid the procedure.
A low carb/high protein diet is suggested after the procedure and drinking at least 1.5 liters of water before the session is recommended. Exercising for 30 minutes after the procedure will help extended weight loss.
